Products I've been Reaching For #2

Products I've been Reaching For #2

So over the past month or so I've come across a few new products and rediscovered an old favourite or two as well. I've been buying quite a few new things over the past couple of weeks (got to curb my spending before term starts) so got to try a lot of new things. I'm really excited for the Autumn releases and can't wait to get my hands on the Bourjois Java Powder. I tried it in store and the finish is lovely, not to mention the powder is silky smooth!

First up is the Nivea In Shower Body Moisturiser. When I first saw it I knew I had to try it out, plus it was on special offer! We all know that moisturising is a bit of a chore. It's time consuming and just leaves you feeling a bit sticky. This saves so much time and leaves your skin feeling super soft without the sticky feeling. It's just so easy to use and lasts a good time too!

I've been really loving Yankee Candles at the moment, my room is full of various sized jars and I have a entire bowl full of wax tarts. My current favourite is the Pink Dragon Fruit scent. It's just so fruity and yummy! I'm currently using a jar at the moment but have this tart ready for when I run out! I really need to stock up on it because I'm not a fan of the wintery spice scents.

To apply my foundation I usually use the RT Buffing Brush but decided to try the Expert Face Brush as it's always raved about and love it! The head is smaller than the buffing brush which I like as it's prevents me from applying too much product. I also like that the bristles seem more tightly packed and just think it gives an overall better finish.

I'm loving light pinky coloured lipsticks at the moment and my go to one has been Mac Please Me. It can be a little drying as it's a matte finish but it's nothing a little lip balm can't sort out! It goes really well with light, minimal makeup but also goes super well with darker eyes and fuller makeup. It's a really great all round. If you know of any non matte dupes please let me know as I want one for over the colder months.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation had been put to the back of my draw and been replaced by my Mac and Estee Lauder foundations as I preferred the fuller coverage. I recently found it and decided to give it a go and haven't put it down since. It's such a lovely foundation. It lasts well and gives a beautiful finish. I'm even loving the less full finish!

I can never get to grips with liquid eyeliners as I don't have a steady enough hand and just find them messy. I recently came across this Bourjois Felt Tip Liner and love it! It has great colour pay off and doesn't smudge or print which is great. The best thing about it it how much control the design gives you. It's just super easy and is literally like drawing on your face!

Kiehls Edinburgh Store

Kiehls Edinburgh Store

Kiehl’s were kind enough to invite me along recently to have a look around their Edinburgh store and find out a little more about the brand.

I've used Kiehl’s in the past, but mostly when I've been gifted some bits and bobs and Christmas and I've visited the concession in Glasgow's House of Fraser however although familiar with the brand I was really looking forward to finding out more.

The store itself is the largest in Europe and was opened in July 2012, bringing a little slice of New York to the chilly Edinburgh Streets.
All of  Kiehl’s staff are highly trained skincare experts and I met up with Lesley who talked me through the brand, conducted a skin test and showed me the types of products suited to my own skin type.

Kiehl’s was founded in 1851 by John Kiehl and was an old world apothecary and community pharmacy. The first store was in a place called "Pear Tree Corner" in New York's East village. It has since developed into a luxury cosmetics and skincare brand with stores in countries around the world.

In 1921 the company was taken over by Kiehl’s apprentice Irving Morse, the store was then taken over by Aaron Morse, Irving's son who transformed Kiehl’s into what we have today, Jami Morse Heidegger Aaron's daughter took over the store when her father passed away however his presence is still very much felt in the stores as they are full of photographs and even some of his prized Harley Davidson motorcycles.
